In the belly of a deer

On my way to Higgins Beach, I detoured down by the airport to avoid traffic, and found a remarkable roadside art exhibit. If you look close, you'll find my GTS in the belly of this deer.

The explanatory links about this exhibit by New York artist Wendy Klemperer are at the end of this post. The lack of commentary is simple: No words are needed to explain or describe this amazing art.

While I browsed through the park, traffic picked up, and my GTS became a target. Time to visit the ocean.

Here are links to the artist Wendy Klemperer and the exhibit in Portland:

  1. My favourite of these installations is the porcupine. Lovely mix with the fall colours in the background.

  2. Sonja,

The porcupine is indeed quite special. Unfortunately, Maine's fall foliage was rather drab, not nearly as bright as had been predicted, due to the recent rainy weather.

  3. Thomas, Thanks for your note and thanks for the info on the Nina. We didn't have a tallship festival this year and I just happened to catch this beauty as she strolled through the canal. I have to say what you call your tourists in Maine is far, far kinder than what most native WI folks say. I can't repeat it here. I'll be sure to keep an eye on your blog!
